Explore The Preaching Program
Our Preaching Program offers Armenian clergy of the Eastern and Western Dioceses of America the opportunity to receive intensive, one-on-one feedback in a seminar or workshop setting. This gives our clergy the chance to hone their preparation and preaching skills in order to nourish themselves spiritually and to deliver a meaningful spiritual experience to their parishioners. Clergy may participate at their own speed or follow the five-year certification schedule if they prefer.
Karoz
The karoz platform offers clergy a growing online treasury of homilies from classical and medieval Armenian fathers. Many of these are appearing here for the first time since they were originally written. All are in English translation. For those who wish to access the sermons in classical Armenian, references are provided. We anticipate adding new groups of seasonal homilies regularly.
Preaching Modules
The fully online St. Nersess Preaching Program will include 13 modules, which are being developed and posted gradually. Modules include recorded video lectures by experts on the module topic, applicable reading materials, and an optional assignment for those desiring to complete the full certification. Through the Fall of 2028, we are providing our clergy the opportunity to experience these modules in person through various workshops and seminars taking place in both Eastern and Western Dioceses of the Armenian Church of America.
Workshops are regional, one-day small group events. Presentations by workshop leaders become part of the online module. Clergy who attend in person have the rare opportunity to hone specific skills with personalized feedback from workshop leaders, while interacting with their peers.
Seminars are annual, three-day events. Plenary sessions and preaching demonstrations by nationally renowned homiletics teachers will be recorded, and become part of the online module. In-person attendees will have the chance to craft their own sermons in intensive break-out groups, with immediate input from the seminar leader and their fellow clergy.
